2020 Membership is Now Open

Following the 2019 AGM,  earlier this month, it was decided to increase the membership as the club portfolio expands. SAC will increase the membership from 150 to 220. Those anglers who have added their names to the waiting list in 2019 will be contacted with details of how to join. Existing members have until the end of January 2020 to renew their membership for 2020 to avoid missing out.

It was also decided at the AGM to increase the membership fee to £30 and abolish the joining fee for new members.

A full list of the minutes has been posted on the AGM Minutes Page.

Club Barbel Record

Roger Carswell fished the last few weeks of the 2018/19 season which produced this stunning 13lb 10oz Club record Barbel from a very high river. Roger fished couple of big Lobworms on a simple rig with a large hook in a slack on the inside of the bank.

Pike Record Goes Again!

Well, we knew it wouldn’t be long for someone broke the record again. Here it is, SAC member David Reynolds with a superb 22lb 4oz lure caught Pike from an unnamed SAC River Severn section. What an awesome fish, well done David!

Pike Record for the Club Secretary

SAC Secretary, Chris Wood, caught a club record Pike at 16lb from Preston Boats this weekend. Chris, a prolific Pike angler, fished a Mackerel tail on the bottom at close range. Although we believe bigger Pike have come from this section over the years, the record list has only been going since the start of the club in 2016. This is a fantastic fish but this record may not hold for too long. Can you beat it? Pike are now at their heaviest at this time of year as they are packing on weight ready for spawning. There’s no better time to get on the river and try.
